Life is about owing to so many things if we can at a particular time and interval. We have friends, family, colleagues, and neighbors but our relationship with them determines how fast and better we will grow with each passing day.

In Fill the Gaps by Andrew Johnston, Isaac has a bad character. He had friends who were there for him but he never gave them a listening ear, the stories of life didn't push him, he was antagonizing everyone each passing day and never believed anyone is better off than him. He called their jobs sh*t while he had none, even when his friend Will was passing through a whole lot he(Isaac) couldn't at least talk to Will as a friend.

He didn't have much money on him and was always dirty, packing used clothes together and still wearing them again without washing them. He left his family who was living in a faraway country and never tried communicating with them because he felt he could live alone all by himself. A dropout undergraduate of a University who has a job that wasn't that promising but still never fought hard to change his status. He ended his relationship with his girlfriend thinking she was controlling his affairs and also had to quit his job. Isaac met with another friend Cullen who introduced him to an act of stealing which gave him a whole lot of cash but Isaac was still talking down on his friend's jobs, especially that of Will. He never told them of his work and where he gets money because he didn't want them to talk him out of it.

Andrew Johnston had it all detailed down about the life of this ungrateful university dropout and how he didn't listen to anybody around him believing he controlled his life which he never knew, he was hurting others with his actions. Thinking that he will change after what played out in their last adventure (Isaac and Cullen)but Isaac remained the same; an unhappy man.

There is a positive impact of this novel because it tends to show how much we should appreciate different walks of life. Those things keep us going each passing day and never allow anybody to talk us out of it since it's such a good cause we are pursuing. Will and Lyle didn't allow Isaac's antagonizing spirit to weigh them down; rather they continued with their jobs and became great through the little things they handled. Even when Will had a drawing that showed a boat experiencing a storm, the lady friend said"The boat has to head towards the storm, it has to keep trying". Meaning that we have to continue trying hard irrespective of what we are passing through but still Isaac didn't see the positive content of Will's work.

Isaac had negative thoughts about life but never knew he was the cause of everything. He refused to appreciate other people's efforts in becoming somebody without following bad ways. He thought people did not love him but he didn't want to work on himself and his antagonizing behavior against others. He didn't want to be on talking terms with his flatmates. Lyle told him(Isaac)about his affairs with his boss but instead of talking to Lyle in a friendly manner, he pushed him away. Isaac made his words look like an invisible arrow piercing the hearts of everyone that came close to him. Appreciating the efforts of his friends was what he(Isaac)was not ready to do.

I rate this book a four out of four stars because it was exceptionally edited. I would recommend this book to everyone who loves peace around them and who wants to change his perspective about life, family, and friends.
