Entanglement - Quantum and Otherwise written by John K Danenbarger is one of the better books that I have read in a very long time. It's a fictional multi-generation novel about love, revenge, murder and twisted family members. The story follows the lives of six main characters and takes place from the year 1984 to 2070. It all begins when Joe Tink finds Beth Sturgess on the streets of Provincetown and takes her home with him to help her clean up from drugs and prostitution. As we get a glimpse into Beth’s character the story then follows her adventures, travelling from America to Bermuda, then back home. Despite her many hardships, she manages to get her life back in order and even falls in love with a cop named Kevin Nuss. Joe and Beth are brought back into each other's lives and their collective story unfolds. Beth and Kevin have a daughter named Geena and adopt a son named Davies. They continue to be the main story tellers of the novel.

I enjoyed reading about the lives of each character, especially those of dark and twisted nature. Their stories intertwined in the most unusual but fascinating ways. I even found myself trying to predict what would happen next but was not able to. This story is written in past and future tense as well as first and second point of view. With this you really need to pay attention as not to miss anything. Even though I did enjoy the novel, I did find it to be a bit misleading regarding quantum theory. I really enjoyed that part of the novel and was disappointed when the subject just dies out.

The only mistake with this book, which I found is not the fault of the novel itself, but when downloading it in EPUB format the cover artwork is missing. I did also find the book to be a bit of a challenging read, especially with English being my second language. I found myself having to look up the meaning of words such as “denunciation”, “halitosis” and “cognizance”. The book starts off great but around the middle, just as all the stories were unfolding, the writing just fell flat for me. It was almost as if two different authors were writing the first and second part of the book.

Overall, I do give this book the rating of 4 out of 4 stars. I found the details of each character, their lives and the events that occurred are all very well written.

I believe this novel will appeal to any adult that would enjoy a unique story. It touches base on some very serious subjects such as sex, murder and suicide. The writing is advanced, especially in the beginning, but once you are used to the narrative it makes for a very interesting read.
