Strong heart by Charlie Sheldon is quite an adventurous tale, very complicated and a bit difficult to understand. It requires keen attention to understanding the various characters used and their relationships.
Strong heart by Charlie Sheldon is about a grandfather named Tom, who is going on a journey with his friends, William and Myra,to visit his grandfather's grave deep in a wilderness in Washington state's Olympic peninsula, before getting a knock on his door only to discover it was a poor abandoned girl about the age of thirteen whose name happened to be Sarah. Coincidentally, Tom happened to be the grandfather of Sarah. Sarah barely has no place to call a home and Tom, Sarah's grandfather was completely unaware of Sarah's existence. It was rather unfortunate for Tom as he only got to know about Sarah when she was dropped at his door step by her grandmother. Tom became confused as to what do with Sarah because her presence was obstructing his already planned trip with his friends. But then, William and Myra talked him into considering taking Sarah with them to their trip.
Sarah been a young teenager has no rumours or feelings of love, trust or respect for anyone as she feels odd in their company as they journey through the wilderness. Sarah disappeared from the camp without their notice for a period of time and that was because of the hurt and anger she feels inside of her which was as a result of the disbelief by her grandfather Tom resulting from the little sketch of a short faced bear she claimed to have seen near the river. Tom seems not to believe her because of her wield behavior. And when she finally returned to the camp, she told them of the unbelievable experience she had while she was away.
The story is quite lengthy with mostly Sarah's tale. Aside that, I love th individual characters used by the author and roles they each played. The book is also well organised by the author Charlie Sheldon. Though what made me bored was the early part of the book as I was struggling to place my taught on the direction the story was heading to, trying to understand the characters used and all of that. But in all, it was amazing as it involves understanding the culture and way of life of the native American.
I will rate the book 3 out of 4 stars as I was lost at certain point. May be because of my unfamiliarity with such type of books full with mysteries and adventure, but at a later run, I got to enjoy the whole narration. I also was unable to detect any error while reading the book. This indicates the good job done by the author. I will therefore recommend this book to lovers of adventurous tale.
