Randy the Irresistible by S.M. Goodier is a story about a young man who is frugal and a reprobate. Randy was born in a family of three to John and Marjorie Love. Randy grew up and went to college. He decided to take a gap year in his second year of college. Leading him to take up side hustles before landing a more permanent position at the Building Society. He started renting out a place in town sharing with other boys. He later abandoned the unit and lost his deposit after playing a dead joke on the Landlord. From there he would sleep with anyone, not only single girls but also married women just to have a roof over his head. He ended up couch hoping and back at his father's place. Randy's big dream was to always live in London and his job at the Building Society opened the doors for him.

In London, Randy didn't want to commit to any leases. He would always find someone to rip off before moving to the next place. He lost another deposit when Sheila, the Landlord's sister tried to make a move on him and he ran away. Everything was going very well for Randy in London and he was dating Nicky. Nicky was a complete opposite of Randy. She was focused, committed, organized and reliable. Frequently Randy would consult Michael his father's friend for advice on life. Michael always grounded Randy and assisted him in getting out of "sticky situations". For example, he advised Randy to try and establish a more permanent stay than to keep moving from one place to another.

I liked how Randy's story had a balance to it. It was not biased. The book showed us that Randy was not as clever as he thought he was and cannot control everything that happens to him. At some point a credit card fraud was committed on his card and he was expected to pay until the matter was resolved. He also ended up with no place to sleep after running away from Gemma and trying to surprise his brother with all his belongings, only to find no one at home. Which made him to move in with Nicky temporarily but his stay there was miserable. Randy later moved in with Stanforth after signing individual leases because Stanforth wouldn't be deceived into signing the lease by himself. The book even taught me how to prevent fraud from being committed on my accounts.

There is nothing not to like about the book because the story is very interesting. I really wanted to know what will happen to Randy at the end. I would recommend the book to anyone looking for a good read except for children as the book contains some non-borderline sexual encounters.

Besides the sexual scenes the book also contains some profanity and a few grammatical errors. But overall I really liked the book and I rate it 4 out of 4 stars.
