Randy the Irresistible by S M Goodier is a fictional comedy about a young man called Randy Love. Randy likes fine things and short-cuts in life, and despite the many mistakes he makes in life, people still love Randy because he is educated and very intelligent. He even tries at some point to steal from his father, just to have enough money to fund his lifestyle. He likes to flirt with women, something that people close to him caution him against, especially his sister Harriet. However, in the end, Randy Love changes, and he begins to realize the importance of people in his life.

This book is flowing and easy to read. It is also about things that many young people encounter in life, the need to make money and at the same time have women to flirt around with. Another fascinating thing in this book is how the author introduces Randy Love, his urge to make it in life and even various places he works, and how eventually he realizes what is important in his life, which is a lesson to every reader of this book. I also like the humor the author shows throughout the book, and how it makes the book eve more interesting.

There are only two things I dislike in this book. First, how women have been portrayed in the book lowers their dignity. The book focuses more on Randy, and how he easily attracts and charms women, some of whom he ends up having sexual relationship with. However, it is important to understand that this description makes the reader to know exactly who Randy Love is as a person. Editing mistakes is also another negative thing as there are several of them in the book.

I rate this book 4 out of 4 because to me, it has a lot of lessons, especially for the young ones. Many readers of this book can learn some lessons, especially towards the end of the book, when Randy realizes that without some people in his life, he would not be able to achieve what his heart desires. I have also given this rating because the minor editing errors I have noted in this book are not worth reducing the rating of such a good book.

I recommend this book to young adults who believe that they can achieve a lot of things in life by dubious means. Randy believes that through is efforts, and without the help and advice from anyone, he can make it in life. However, he eventually realizes his mistakes and changes his mind. Such kind of a lesson is very crucial for young adults, who use short-cuts in life to achieve long-term goals.
