Strong Heart was an interesting story to read. It started out as a slow read but after the first three chapters, it became an amazing read. When she left everyone and got lost but just reappeared during the thunderstorm turned the story into a mystical legend that is spoken of by Native Americans, when they talk of their ancestors.
The story was a journey into the history of when mankind came into being. With a BS in History, this book was a fascination into the beginning of the history of mankind and our development.

Strong Heart is a story that reminds me of conversations that I had with my grandmother on what happened as she was growing up. Her history consisted of growing up as a child of a Freed Slave and a Cherokee mother. To not belong anywhere and having to rely on someone else to tell you who you are. Finding yourself in the midst of prejudice.

This story, even though, some of the facts cannot be substantiated, the mystic journey that was taken showed that the history is there and that something happened to our main character when she disappeared and reappeared, even though they had searched and had others to help them search and could find where she disappeared to or returned from. But by returning to the passageway that she disappeared in and was able to find the missing arrow, gave some credence to her story of this passageway into the past. Within the story she also told about how he arrows were made and how she knew about this particular arrow and how it was used and how people moved from place to the other.

The ending of the story was the proving point. When both the young native American woman and the visitor from the Europe agreed that the mountains that was spoken about was the one that they were looking at and even though they had lost their original artifact, they could maybe find other artifacts in that area.

My rating was this book is a 3 out of 4-good read and I would highly recommend it.
