We can all agree that we enjoyed our lives the most as young adults. Even though we faced challenges, we learnt to face them and fight. It might not have been easy facing the world without our parents watching our back in every step. We made mistakes and learned from. S M Goodier’s Randy the Irresistible is a fun, cheerful portrayal of what young people have to go through when they have to leave the comforts of home and figuring out life, financial awareness, legal obligations, relationships and being an employee.

The protagonist of this book, Randy Love, is a confident guy with good looks (which has helped him a lot with ladies). He is a bit manipulative, yet people enjoy his company. He has a good insight, certainty and unwavering quality which makes him exceptional as an employee. The book is intended to be a simple loosening up read, something to appreciate without thinking excessively and that causes you to have a decent outlook on yourself. The humor is interesting to somebody we as a whole know, somebody cruising through life on their attractive features and unwarranted certainty. Another character I loved was Randy’s dad, John Love. He’s an interesting character who surely loves his son (even though he was considered the black sheep of the family). His character showed a depiction of what the parents go through when their kids leave the comforts of home and face the challenging world.

What I loved about this book is how relatable and easy going it is. I am pretty sure most of us can relate to at least half of the chapters in book (geographical locations kept aside). Another fascinating part of the book is the index of British terminology and slang provided at the back of the book to help with the language barrier.

I would rate this book 4 out of 4 stars because I enjoyed reading every chapter. The sense of humour is on point. There were multiple sexual, narcotics and alcohol references in the book. Therefore this book will interest youthful grown-ups advancing in life as well as more experienced grown-ups who have high school kids.
