Following is an official OnlineBookClub.org review of "Strong Heart" by Charlie Sheldon

When Tom opened his door to let Sarah, his granddaughter, in , he didn't know what was in store for both of them. Having survived rejection from her stepfather and subsequently her grandmother, she was unconcerned about staying with her grandfather Tom, who didn't even know she existed in the first place. Tom who was about going on a long hike with his friends, William and Mrya, was less than pleased about the new development. Sarah struck him as weak, with no experience whatsoever and a very sassy girl. However after being persuaded he soon finds out that he was wrong and it's him who has some catching up to do all along.

Strong Heart protrays the story of survival and resilience and the fact that it's being told through the eyes of a child makes it more appealing. It teaches us to persevere and move on even though life throws us into situations we do not want to be in. It also emphasizes the significance of our culture and our land. We must never forget our roots because it's what shapes us and the society at large. We should try not to destroy what's ours now because when it's gone we'll never have it back.

Charlie Sheldon is an excellent writer who knows how to thrill his audience while pointing out interesting facts to them. His incredible ability to convey the breath taking vistas of the Olympics leaves one in wonder. He tells us a story about culture. He advises us to remember our roots by recalling what our elders told us in the past. His book is pricisely what we need in order to remember.

I would rate the book a 3 out of 4. I didn't give it a higher rating because of the book's length and some details which were unnecessary. There were also numerous superfluous talks which I felt were unnecessary and made some parts of the book monotonous. Nonetheless,I didn't give it a lower rating because I admired the author's attempt to inculcate the values of home to us.

I recommend this book to lovers of adventure and historical research as it's filled with hair raising adventures that they wouldn't want to miss.
