Strong Heart is a heroic tale by Charlie Sheldon. It is plotted in Bellingham, Seattle and Olympic National Park. Charlie has tried to shape his curiosity about the legitimacy of Tribes' legends through Strong Heart. While working as a consultant for Fishery Management Councils, he learned many tribal legends about the arrival of human beings in the Pacific Northwest, which urged him to write Strong Heart. The story is blended with archaeological flavor and also portraying the conflicts between scientific and non-scientific beliefs.

The story revolves around the journey of a 13 years old girl named, Sarah Cooley. She was suddenly introduced to her grandfather, Tom and had been left under his care. Tom, his friend William and Myra(William's daughter) were about to leave on a backpack trip and had to take Sarah with them. Initially they thought, this trip will be a learning experience for Sarah about maturity, grit and character but after a while they realise, Sarah is the one, who is leading them. Strong heart is the sobriquet that Sarah gets during her journey to the past.

Even though, I am not a fan of adventure stories, this book was a good read. The archaeological informations that are given in the story was new and interesting to me. The back-and-forth conversations between Myra and Sergei, each giving their own vindications about their beliefs in legends and scientific datas, was the little fun part throughout the story that I enjoyed.

Being a foreigner to the place mentioned, I was little lost at the beginning. It took me a while to locate myself for better understanding of story. Within the story Sarah presents a versimilitudinous embedded narrative, where she mentions different characters with different nicknames which was wearisome for me.

Overall, I rate Strong Heart 3 out of 4 stars. It was the realistic fiction but none of the events made an impact on me, neither I absorbed anything as the life-altering moment from the story. One who have interests in archaeology and legends will find this book most interesting. However, I will also recommend it to those, who loves to read adventure fictions.

It's awful that the book didn't satisfied you, but you did a great job on the review. I am also not a fan of adventure stories, so I'll just pass this one.

I am not actually a fan of adventure stories that's why I might not have perceived it the way author might have wanted. Anyways thank you for encouragement. I appreciate that ◕‿◕
