The Finesser by Patrice Brown is about the story of Jody and Passion. The story is about how they crossed each other’s path and what would happen to them after that.

Passion Richards is a beautiful and successful businesswoman. But even if the business is booming, her luck with men is not very good. So when Passion meets an attractive man like Jody, she didn’t think twice. Jody is a broken man who is trying very hard to improve his condition. Jody is a drug dealer, gambler, and has many police records in the past. When he gets acquainted with Passion, he plans to exploit her for his interests. Speaking of starting a business, he convinced Passion for investing money. Will passion fall for Jody’s trap?

I must say the book has surprised me. I thought Passion would be Jody’s another trap. Readers will know at the very end what happened. The author highlighted a strong female character, which I liked very much.

But the author has failed to tell the story specifically. I had a hard time reading and trying to figure it out. She did not pay any attention to the details. The story would have been better if she had taken more details into account. Another big mistake, I think, is that the author did not give any description of the characters. Except for Jody and Passion’s character, there is not much information about any other characters. I didn’t like this matter. It would be great if he described the characters in a little more depth.

I’m rating this book 2 out of 4 stars. The story itself is good. But for the reasons I mentioned above, I have deducted two stars. Although the book seems to be edited professionally, it is better to proofread the book again. I didn’t like the book. But some readers may enjoy the book. However, the book contains some offensive language and misleading scenes. So I would recommend the book to adults only. Sensitive readers should be aware of these matters.
