The Reel Sisters by Michelle Cummings is an intriguing story of a group of women fly fishers. Fly fishing is a more of a fun game of catching fish and releasing them back to the waters. The story is a journey of five friends who out of the love of fly fishing become sisters. It's a mix of happiness, laughter and sadness at the same time.

All the friends assist each other in all parts of life as they do their fly fishing. It's so fascinating how they rescue one of them called Melody is carried downstream naked, luckily enough she is saved by the reel sisters.

I liked the way the author brought out the act of fly fishing. Anyone who didn't know about the game will get a very clear picture of the game and definitely yearn to try it out. Personally I was not aware of the game but will love to try it out because of the fact that fly fishing can be very therapeutic.

The story is so adventurous as the author takes us to Arkansas River, learning alot about fish. To be honest I love fish but didn't know that a fish has digestive enzymes that can get rid of a metal in its body.

Michelle Cummings brought out the fact of friends being so important. This is very evident on how out of the love of fly fishing the women fly fishers mirror a very important aspect of friendship. They get to assist each other in various part as one of the dies that is Amanda.

The part I loved most is how the writer explains different aspects of fly fishing in different sections. On the cover page she has kept a picture of a reel which brings a clear image of fly fishing.

The part I disliked most is when the author brings the story about a storm. It was so frightening. Amanda dies in the storm which is so disheartening. The breaking down of Mike's family and the pain he has to endure. But out of the pain the Reel sisters reflect a lot about their life as Rose opens up about her daughter who drowned. They get to celebrate their friend rather than mourn. So I feel this can be very educative for the reader.

This book was not professionally edited, I found profanity in the book. Overall I rate this book 3 out of 4 stars . Since I still enjoyed the book and got educated, I couldn't remove another star from it. I recommend this book for middle aged ladies and lovers of fly fishing.
