Friendship happened through giving trust, respect, and love, but there is nothing sweeter than gaining it by accident. Reel Sisters is a story of five women connected with the same sport, though different they learn to love each other like family. Written by Michelle Cummings, who aims to help people discovering themselves, this book will teach you how to appreciate the time, people, and especially yourself.

Melody is a self-sufficient girl who views the world as monotone as she can, and she accidentally meets four girls that change her perspective. Rose is the mentor of the group; she does not only teach fly fishing; she also provides comfort to everyone. Amanda, who is a lovable mother, a sweet wife, and a reliable friend, makes their friendship stronger with her sacrifice. Veronica not only gives delicious food to the group, and her story will also teach you how life can be a roller coaster ride. Lastly, Sophie is the girl who plans for every occasion, and she will do everything for her friends. Troubles and tests keep on happening to them, but as they face their dilemmas, they are learning more the true essence friendship.

Cummings usesd multiple first-person points of view, and these allow the reader to see and feel the perspective of every character. She effectively communicates how each moment feels; the fears, the hope, the love, and the insecurities were all delivered well without losing the emotional impact. The empathy that the readers can feel in the story is so strong, and that is because the author writes the book very well.

I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. The amount of satisfaction that the readers can get in this story is 100%. The story is very informative, and as a person who did not know fly fishing, this book is a great source. The characters are relatable, and it can make the reader invest in their journey. Lastly, I don’t find any grammatical error that affects the story.

I highly recommend this book to everyone, but there are profanities in the story, so I recommend guidance to younger readers. From the moment they meet each other, I think the mood of the story change, and I can suddenly feel the excitement from what may come next. It is an addictive, funny, surprising, and inspiring story, and you can’t get this out of your head immediately.
