Just Another Morning is an extensive compilation of fourteen flash fiction and short stories written by E. Alan Fleischauer. Broadly speaking, the common theme between each fascinating story is that the typical waking day you thought will be your lucky day. For example, the first chapter: The Birthday Gift, in which the main character was able to see his deceased beloved brother. The concept of the book features different conflicts of separate chapters, and the events were based and inspired by the US holidays; even the fresh COVID-19 pandemic issue was added as an episode.

The notable author admirably wrote over six published novels of different genres and for different ages. His best-known novel “Rescued” was a semifinalist for the Laramie Award for Best Western 2019. The content of the book precisely matches the story; it was extremely bookish. An example is “Suddenly, he smelled coffee brewing. He was standing in the doorway to his kitchen and his brother Kirk was sitting at the counter, sipping from a steaming cup” The descriptive words were excellent that will undoubtedly make the readers involved and hooked. The central idea I’ve gotten in the story was to try to take all the rare chances of being lucky, because we may not realize the opportunity of knocking on us since we are just ignoring it. Fleischauer, the author, naturally did the same effect again. All of the favorable reviews of his unique masterpieces were exceptional. The author's power where he was able to turn his creative imaginations into an emotion and a connection to the world was I believed the biggest element of why this book is great.

The least part that I liked about the book was some chapters were not as fast-paced as the other beginning chapters. I was tempted to skip the section, fortunately, because of the thrill of the story; I was able to read all of them. Other than that, I have no other flaws to be mentioned. The style and editing were lovely and engaging, especially that there were no apparent grammatical issues found.

I’m giving the book 4 out of 4 stars. I’m surprised by how the book was edited. The team made sure that all of the reviewer’s possible queries will be answered. They also placed side notes on some of the pages for the unpublished polishing of the book that greatly helped reviewers like me to scrutinize even the smallest element of the literary piece. Moreover, in my opinion, the book is ready to be published. The short stories give me classic stories vibes, which is perfect when you want a short rest.

I would recommend Just Another Morning to all readers, regardless of the choice of genres and age, also for those who love to read when they have a few moments to spare, e.g., at the bus or train station, or during the journey; in the bathtub or whilst relaxing. I am beyond satisfied reading the book and I must say, this is one of the books that I’d love to read all over again when time permits.
