Passion soothes our soul and drives us crazy at the same time. This book tells the story of women fly fishers and their passion for fly fishing. The story goes beyond that to give a deeper message through their individual lives.

The Reel Sisters by Michelle Cummings is the story of a group of friends, Rose, Amanda, Veronica and Sophie who were passionate about fly fishing and regularly met at Rose's cabin to pursue their passion. One such afternoon as they were enjoying their time fishing, a naked girl is washed down the river shouting for help. The girl, Melody is rescued from the cold water and soon becomes a part of the group and develops a liking towards fly fishing. These women having a strong bonding and they love each other dearly. They face struggles of their own, Amanda struggles to keep herself together with her little children while her husband is far away, Sophie struggles with her love life, Melody faces identity crises, Veronica with her busy schedule and Rose misses her daughter and husband. We see how though they have problems of their own, when they come together it is as though they forget all of that and enjoy what they are passionate about.

The story though superficially seems to be about fly fishing, it goes to a deep-seated level to give a message of friendship and the reality of the struggles that a individual faces. The book is packed with adventure and extensive knowledge as we read through it's pages. It motivates it's readers to pursue what they love to do and make time for it inspite of the busy life we are caught up in. The importance fo having friends, and having someone to share your life with and grow together is also depicted in a commendable manner.

I liked the meaning and the importance of friendship that this book offers. It is so beautiful to see how to women support each other though entangled in their own lives. It is quite difficult to name what I disliked about this book as it such a beautiful read. It is explained from the standpoint of each character and it brings out the emotions of each character vividly.

I rate The Reel Sisters 4 out of 4 stars for its message and I enjoyed reading the book. It is well edited except for a couple of errors. I recommend this book to all women as it is a depiction of the lives of most women.
