Strong Heart, by Charlie Sheldon, is a touching book that tells us the story of Sarah Cooley, a young girl with a difficult life, that all of a sudden shows up in the doorstep of his grandfather Tom, who, until that moment, was unaware of the existence of his own granddaughter.

Either by coincidence or by destiny, Sarah appeared in William’s life just when he was planning to go on a trip to the mountains to visit the grave of one of his ancestors with his friend William and William’s daughter Myra. After this unexpected event, a dilemma is born: should they take Sarah in this trip with them or should they postpone it?

This was only the beginning of a journey full of mystery, adventure and even a little bit of magic. The personality of the main characters is well-defined and you can easily picture each one of them. What I liked most about this book is how it manages to illustrate the way strangers can become so close and how it portrays love in a non-romantic way while showing perfectly all the difficulties that present while you are getting to know someone.

The story this book is telling is fine, however, what I didn’t like about it, was that in some cases it didn't specify whose character was talking, which makes it difficult to keep track of some parts of the plot. In addition to this, the book is professionally edited but it still presents a tiny grammar mistake.

I can’t say I love the way the book is written, I believe the idea has a lot of potential but in some cases, the dialogues and the descriptions become tedious and dull, which is why I’m rating it 3 out of 4 stars. I would definitely recommend if you are a lover of adventure stories but I wouldn’t entirely recommend it if you are not.
