[India In Chaos, Only Judiciary can Save][India in Chaos, Only Judiciary can Save], by komal chandra agrawal, is a buoyant exposé on the political, social and economic life of India. It is about situation in India since 70 years of independence, and options need be adopted, to move forward. As a democracy, the Union has passed through a lot in terms of Legislative, Executive and Judicial contributions to governance. But the author believes that judiciary should be the 'third eye' to monitor and ensure that what was being philosophised was actually being accomplished, or not. The citizens deserve more than they are getting in terms of quality education, transportation, urban as well as rural life. The citizens need quality life commensurate with what nature endowed them. Granted, there are some that believe all is well with the nation, but the writer thinks otherwise.

An egalitarian society will be right for the country. Fundamental Human Rights as spelt out in the Constitution is for everybody and therefore must be respected. A society of educated people is better than that made up of illiterates. In the opinion of the book, education is to the mind and soul what food is to the body. Other sectors of the economy are equally highlighted. Water including waste management are areas the government should focus on. Corruption has been in the country for long.

The optimism of the author is radiated in the road map he proposed will usher in a new dawn, in Part 3 of the book. The concept of city centre where life will be more abundant, was well defined. For example, electricity needs be improved. A less polluted environment will lead to a healthy society. Effective waste disposal method. Disaster management and population control. Prosperity for the people is not negotiable. Utilization of available resources. Rural development. Reviving Art and Culture department. To the extent possible, preserving, instead of wasting resources. Even though the city centre will be expensive, it will be offset by the economic boom that will come with it.

[India in Chaos, Only Judiciary can Save][India In chaos, Only Judiciary can Save] , is a well-researched work. It deals with all that needs be done if India was to be good, drawing inferences robustly from other countries of the world. It touches on development of industries that will absorb the teeming youths that will graduate from the refurbished tertiary institutions. If things are to work well, then the Executive and the Legislature must be made accountable. And this is where Judiciary comes in.

In this age of scientific and technological advances around the world, India should stay ahead, rather than play laggards. K.C. Agrawal has out-done himself this time in being quite vocal in addressing challenging issues in his country, where others might have remained silent. I recommend it to all Indians and any international student or public analyst who will find it handy as reference material. I rate it [4 out of 4 stars][4 out of 4 stars] .
