This book is about Brooke Davis and her drive towards becoming the first test pilot to fly at faster than light speeds. Brooke is extremely ambitious and will stop at almost nothing to fulfill her dream.

Brooke quickly advances her military career, climbing the ranks at a steady pace, by fighting the enemy forces that threaten to annihilate Earth. Brooke thinks outside of the box and outsmarts the attacking invaders more often than not, earning her the respect of her colleagues and superiors alike.

She stumbles upon information that leads her to believe that there is a massive conspiracy buried within and controlled by, some of Earth’s ruling officials. Her twin sister Marie and Professor Kevin Summerfield aid her in her quest to reveal the hoax to all of humanity, while the mysterious organization tries to stop them at every turn.

Beyond Cloud Nine (Beyond Saga Book 1) by Greg Spry has absolutely everything I look for in what I would consider a great science fiction book.

I have a fondness for brilliant, albeit socially inept characters, and Brooke is one of them. Her more outgoing sister Marie learns to circumvent her sister’s awkwardness and tries to draw her out of her shell, with doubtful results.

The author also did an excellent job in describing and bringing the readers into his extrasolar worlds. Dizzying Starthroat battles against the more advanced enemy Tri-fighters had me on the edge of my seat. Terraforming new planets and forming new human colonies is every science fiction fan’s dream story.

The cherry on the cake is that this book is part of a series. I am a huge fan of series and can’t wait to see what happens in the next books.

I would recommend this novel to any science fiction fan over eighteen, due to the violence depicted in some of the interstellar battles.

I would rate this book a 4 out of 4 stars. I loved it so much I had to give it the maximum rating possible. Editing errors were so minor, I did not even take it into consideration while rating the book. This is an excellent novel, really top notch.
