A refreshed perspective on the story of Adam and Eve by William E. Combs in the book, Who Told You That You Were Naked. Reexamining texts on the origins of Sin told in the Bible and how it would have been interpreted by Adam and Eve, as instructed by God. In examining the pretext of the commands given by God to Adam and subsequently to Eve, the book tells their personal roles and the resulting consequences of their actions that brought about the original sin and everything thereafter.
I liked most that this book broadened my knowledge on the book of Genesis. It widened my understanding a little bit more on the story of original sin and gave me a bit more prospective into good and evil and how an individual person’s interpretation of instructions can tip the scale of a given situation. So one may take away from the book a sense of responsibility for personal actions. I did not find anything in the book that made me outright dislike the book, as I always like to read books like this with an open mind
The book had no noticeable grammatical errors which is pleasing as it means it was professionally edited. The setting of the story is in biblical times from the book of Genesis: the story of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. The scenery as described through the imagery in the story is great, it gave me a sense of what is happening in the book. The transitioning is as told in the book of Genesis but the texts are reexamined which opens the readers’ perspective.
I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars, because it is insightful and thought provoking. The texts are taken apart and examined in a way that can be understood by the reader, and I found it broadened my knowledge on original sin. And I think other readers may find it as an interesting educational tool for further knowledge, especially for those readers who may be interested in Theology and specifically the story of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden.
I recommend this book to anyone who wants to broaden their knowledge on original sin and understanding a bit more on the book of Genesis especially, the story of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. This book gives great insights and thought provoking points that may be helpful and educational. I suggest that readers read with an open mind that is open to a refreshed perspective.
