If Life Stinks, Get Your Head Outta Your But's by Mark L. Wdowiak is an honest and straightforward self-help book that encourages readers to step outside of their heads and see the bigger picture. The author uses colloquial language and phrases to discuss complex topics. The simple language and no-nonsense approach make the author's message accessible and easy to understand.

Throughout the book, the author covers topics such as: seizing the present moment, fulfilling your potential, having confidence, cultivating personal motivation, and using your knowledge to make the best choices and take the most beneficial action. While he encourages readers to take action and face life’s challenges with gumption, he also cautions against wasting energy unnecessarily. Additionally, he urges the readers to focus on the positive but warns against overlooking flaws that need improvement. Ultimately, this book is a fantastic self-help book that packs a great deal of advice and life coaching into a relatively small package.

At first, I did not enjoy this book because it came across as aggressive and poignant. However, after reading on, I realized that this was just the author’s writing style and I began to appreciate his insightful remarks. While I have heard most of his advice before, from coaches and teachers, the author presented it in a fresh way that made me think deeply about how I could apply these common phrases and ideas to my daily life. My favorite aspect of this book was the content because I love feeling inspired and being motivated to improve myself. However, I disliked the author's tone, and I felt his voice was unnecessarily aggressive.

I rate this book 3 out of 4 stars because it is a great tool to help people achieve their goals and reach their fullest potential. However, I cannot rate this book 4 out of 4 stars because I wasn’t completely captivated by the content and it was not an exciting read. Nevertheless, this book deserves more than 2 stars because it has useful advice and covers topics sometimes overlooked in other self-help books.

This book will not appeal to people who are happy with their current lives, because the emphasis is put on creating a better version of yourself. Thus, people who are already successful will not gain as much or be as interested in reading this. On the other hand, people who are trying to cultivate a more successful and productive life will benefit greatly from the teachings in this book.
