The book Heartaches 2--- Bad Boy vibes by H. M. Irwing is the second of the trilogy, the book continued the story of the beautiful couple Anna Simmons and Rafe Brown and their journey to make their love triumph against all odds.

Rafe Brown had been a victim of rape by his superior while in Syria and had struggled to get his life together afterward, trying to pick his life back in pieces he met and fell in love with Anna Walter-Simmon who was also assaulted by her so called boyfriend. Together they both struggle to fight for their love while striving to be unbroken by their circumstances. All hell broke loose when their assailant came back to their life's and would have to be faced on a daily basis bringing out the pain they struggled to get rid of over time. Nightmares, fights, screams, pain and pleasure as each tried to deal with emotions and still be a source of support to the other.

The author in this series also shed some light on the issues of gay marriage and homosexuality as Pat, Anna's friend finds love and lust in the course of book. Also, the potray of depression in a way the society doesn't seem to notice as Rafe being broken and depressed gave his assailant more power over him. The author gave an insight to the aftermath of rape to its victims and the perception by families of the victims and society at large.

The author defiles the fairy tale idea of a happily ever after, showing in raw natural sequence the interdependence, pain, confusion and misunderstanding in everyday relationship which I think most of us can relate to, despite Anna getting away from the Preston's the pain and confusion still lingers, seeing Matt as a monster still sounded abstract causing a mixed reaction between the two.

The book appears to be well edited, except for a few almost unnoticeable spelling errors which doesn't affect the overall story line, however reading beforehand the first of the series would make it more interesting to understand the story. The author ended with a tease that would make looking forward to the next pages a must which is something Romance readers would enjoy.

I rate this book a 3 out of 4
