Protostar- Braxton Cosby
My rating for the book- 3 out of 4
Protostar is the first book in the 'Star Crossed Saga' written by Braxton Cosby. It is a Science-Fiction, balanced out with a lot of romantic aspects and a little bit of action.
The protagonist of this book is Prince William, the son of the very honored king of Fabricius- Gregorio. The story mostly revolves around his mission to the Earth to continue the legacy of his family and his kingdom of Fabricius, in which he is supposed to assassinate the Star-Child and how he deals with the events which pop up before him just as he starts his journey.
On the other side is Sydney, a seventeen year old girl who is the unsuspected Star-Child. She was raised by her grandmother Sarah, and as-far-as she knows, she is an orphan. Little did she know about her true life and her true self and lived in the countryside of Madinsburg.
When William encounters Sydney for the first time, she is not that he suspected her to be. Gradually, living with her for a few days due of some technical problem in his ship, he falls in love with her. Constantly approached by his home to complete his mission and to return to his own planet as soon as possible, he has to choose between Sydney and his mission, between love and duty.
The relationship between the characters is well-developed. The emotional outbursts of the characters are also very realistic and placed in the correct situations.
The story-line becomes more and more intriguing as it continues further. Reading the first few chapters is really a tedious job which is a minus, but just as the introductions of the characters end, the excitement of the whole story begins. It really becomes difficult to put down and book! Further it makes the reader just stare at the wall for some time before continuing further...
The heart throbbing climax is also a very intriguing element of the story. But beware, you will encounter a lot of flirting with each character through the whole course! The Science-Fiction element is perfectly mingled with the action and the romance. The antagonist is really unsuspected and is shown flawlessly.
Further the end discloses a lot of things which could never be guessed before reading them, and even discloses the plot and the antagonist of the second book which makes the reader really intrigued to read the second book.
I would highly recommend this book to the fanatics of Young Adults, Romance and Fantasy genres! Further this will bring hours of fun to the teenagers and adults...
The heroic antics of Prince William and Sydney for the sake of love is really refreshing and makes me look forward to read the following books of the Star-Crossed Saga!

It's sad when circumstances force us to accept "trade-offs" like this. Real life could (at times) become more complex than what we would have wanted it to be, indeed. Thank you for your succinct review.he has to choose between Sydney and his mission, between love and duty.
