Voice of the Elders is a book whose action begins with a session of the Youth Assembly at the UN Building in New York.

The session is interrupted when it is about to start by some strangers that appear suddenly behind the Youth Assembly Chair and asks permission to address the Assembly to explain the people of our world that they come from another world much like the Earth and that they want to help us to reverse the runaway climate change because human civilization is at risk.

They offer to share their regenerative technologies with the people of Earth and invite the world leaders to choose a number of people to go with them to study their world.

Using telepathic abilities the strangers who called themselves "The Elders", convey great ammounts of information from their minds to the ones of the world leaders to reasure them that what they say is true.

From now on the book relates how the world leaders accept the strangers' help and how the project is delayed by a terrorist group that wants to continue with the practices that are destroying our planet.

The three main characters are two earth ambassadors to the elders' world Rohini and Guanming and special FBI agent Jane.

After a terrorist attack they travel to China protected by a daoist society and they learn a lot about daoism and modern ecovillages before they return to USA while the terrorists are trying to kill them. Finally the terrorists are destroyed and the elders return to continue with the process of saving planet Earth.

At least one character is vanished during the plot without the author informing what happens to him, and the book seems to have no end. Another book? Maybe.

This book gives us some information about daoism and his ancient roots in China and other places of the West. It has many beautiful stories of that culture that refer to virtues as compassion, frugality, and humility, and the way in which they help people to make a better world to live in.

The author describes a farm of self-sustainability that belongs to a monastery, the way in which the people can live without destroying their own world, and how it has been impossible for us to do it because our lack of political will or just the maturity to make the necessary changes.

The books tells also a little about how is the life in the elders' world and how they live without pollute their world using things made of natural materials only.

A beautiful book that makes us rethink our lifestyle and start to live in a different way. But I rate it 3 out of 4 stars because I feel that the plot is a little defficient. I would like to read its continuation.
