Who told you that you were naked?
By William combs
Who told you that you were naked revolves around the story of Adam and Eve in Genesis. The author clearly explains the origin of sin into the earth after Adam and Eve ate from the tree of knowledge of good and evil which God had forbidden them. This happened when the serpent enticed Eve her to doubt God’s word by eating the fruit. Eve accepted and went ahead, ate the fruit and shared it with Adam. As a result they found themselves naked.

When Adam and Eve heard God walking in the Garden looking for them, they went hiding as they were naked. God called Adam and he responded “I heard your voice in the garden and I was afraid because I was naked and hid myself” Gen 3:10.Then the lord asked him, “Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten the fruit of the tree I commanded you not to eat? “God punished them for disobedience by putting enmity between the serpent and the woman, and more other punishments as mentioned in the story.

William Comb relates the origin of sin with what Apostle Paul says in Romans 5:12-14 that “sin came into the world through Adam and through sin, death,” The author advices readers to fear the lord and avoid actions that lead them to transgressions. Therefore, we should not rely on our own understanding but acknowledge God in everything that we do. I love the way the author relates the book of Genesis to that of Apostle Paul in the New Testament. It brings out clearly how sin leads to severe punishment.

I enjoyed reading chapter seven which really talks about faith and inner peace. The author encourages us to believe that Jesus is Lord in our hearts and believe in his promises as Abraham did at his old age.God promises to give him his own heir.

Additionally, the book talks about inner peace? The author inspires readers to present their requests to God through prayer and humble petition with thanksgiving. In so doing this we will be guided by God’s peace. Therefore, Christians should dedicate their worries to God.

I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. I recommend Comb’s book to Christians since it helps them rekindle their faith. I loved the fact that it inspires and encourages Christians on the importance of obedience and trust in God.
