The book “Strong Heart” begins with a trip of a family with friends, a 13-year-old daughter goes missing. The father went everywhere searching for her but to no avail, after a week she came back with injuries on her head and her finger. The book is a story of events, love, friendship and commitment.

Strong Heart by Charlie Sheldon is an interesting story set in the North Pacific Coast. The story at the beginning tells us about the sudden arrival of Sarah at her grandfather’s home, as I continued reading it gradually evolved into a historical fiction that is very interesting and educative. Charlie Sheldon has narrated the book with a firsthand experience at Olympic National Park going by the beautiful scenarios he painted in the book.

Tom, along with his grand-daughter, whom he just met and some friends go hiking in the Olympic National Park they came back with an important artifact to which they took to great-grandfather’s burial site. Sarah is a strong girl, having lost her mother at a very tender age made her become very strong-willed and self-dependent. She got Annoyed with Tom her grandfather for not believing her story of a short-faced bear, she disappeared and her grandfather Tom searched everywhere for her, she came back after one week. While on their way back home, she tells them where she had been for the whole week, she also told them a story of old men.

The book is a fictional not withstanding contains some historical facts that I did not know about until I read the book. I can say that this book is one of the best historical fiction books I have read. I want to say that the book is professionally edited; I could not find any error and that made reading it to be very smooth and easy

Strong Heart is a magical combination of exploration of family ties and science and were all interwoven throughout the story, making it a captivating one. The book was written in Sarah’s point of view, she recounts the sad event surrounding her disappearance, The author Charlie Sheldon while writing the book captures the essence of a teenage girl, who got lost in the world, and trying to believe in herself even when others refuse to believe in her. Sarah’s way of narration was captivating and sympathetic. Sarah story is special and different from all books I have read

This book makes a great read for those who love to read books on parental love, child care, and children character etc, the book ended leaving the readers with a lot of question in the mind; I want to give the book a rate of 3 out of 4 stars
