Heaven and Earth is a science fiction book by Arturo Riojas. It tells a story of two races light years across the universe from each other, who are not as different as you might think. One race is from the planet Treretum and the other is from planet Earth. Earth had been visited by the aliens of Treretum many times throughout history and they were back once again to check on the advancement of our planet, but this time there was another mission as well. The aliens needed the people of Earth's help and were willing to give help in return.

Nivla, an alien of Treretum, wanted to retrieve his brother's body from the crash on the last expedition to Earth and needed help on how to defeat an enemy about to wipe out his race. Olga, Gavila'n, Sam, and Dr. Welch, who are from Earth, receive in exchange valuable information on how to retrieve knowledge that the aliens had left in different locations around the planet. Information that would change how they see their government and how they can change the future of their world.

Even though this book is a work of fiction, the author also gives the readers facts about the metal cadmium and how it is poisoning our bodies and the measures we can take to avoid having serious complications from it. At the end of each chapter the facts are displayed for your perusal.

The technique of using truth and fiction in this story will appeal to both those that read for enjoyment and those that read for knowledge. I was impressed how the author incorporated his feelings on cadmium into his storyline. I did feel at times that there was too much technological jargon for the average reader. I rated this book a 3 out of 4 stars. I didn't come across any errors in grammar or spelling. I didn't rate it a 4 because young or not as experienced readers will probably not enjoy the story as much with the difficulty of some of the vocabulary. I feel it is a little too advanced for those individuals. If the story hadn't flowed as well from one setting to another I would have rated it a 2.

The emotion that Arturo conveys in this story emphasizes his opinion on cadmium and how it is affecting the health of our society. It must have been a difficult process to write a book that leaves the reader with the enjoyment of reading a good book and at the same time imparts knowledge that the reader didn't have before.
Overall I really enjoyed reading this book and would happily read more by Arturo Riojas.

I am looking for another book to review and this one falls into consideration, namely because I am not interested in any of my paid reviews to select from.

It does sound interesting and a little added knowledge is always welcome in my book. Thank you for the review.
