I am glad to Morton E Tavel for this great book; he introduced some very accurate information, and studies about so many health topics, and he tried to do not neglect any possible trick concerning health, even some subjects like e-cigarettes or WIFI.
This is some wonderful work, about health, food and drugs, great information like this one, about Arsenic presence in food and especially in rice:” Arsenic is present in the environment as a naturally occurring substance, or it may result from human contamination. It is present in water, air, soil, and foods. In foods, arsenic may be present in both organic and inorganic forms, the latter being the most toxic. The FDA has been monitoring the levels of arsenic in foods for decades, and in 2011, increased its testing. Tests included more than 1,300 samples, and with regard to rice, they found that among all types of white rice, the briefly boiled version tended to have the highest levels of inorganic arsenic, with an average of 114 parts per billion (ppb). Instant rice had the lowest, averaging 59 ppb. Medium-grain rice from California tended to have lower levels of inorganic arsenic than rice originating from other parts of the U.S. Also white basmati rice from California, India, and Pakistan contain an average of about half the amounts of most others. Although inorganic arsenic is a known carcinogen, there are no federal limits for it in juice, rice, or most other foods. Moreover, many arsenic-containing rice products are marketed to children and infants as “health foods," and children are far more susceptible to the dangerous effects of arsenic exposure. Research suggests that high levels of arsenic exposure during childhood are capable of harming a child’s developing brain, producing neurobehavioral problems as well as cancer and lung disease later in life. This means parents must be careful to avoid serving their children food with significant levels of arsenic. This is especially true for rice beverages that are used as a milk replacement, which means that children under the age of 5 should not receive any rice drinks as part of a daily diet.”
I didn’t know about arsenic presence in rice before this reading, and for that reason, and because it is so important information to know, I copied the entire paragraph here. Also, a lot of good advice, supported with scientific facts like for sleeping habits and its payoff, “Most people, having busy schedules, often resort to cutting down on their hours of sleep. But even minimal sleep loss takes a toll on your mood, energy, and ability to handle stress. The quality of your sleep directly affects the quality of your waking life, including your mental sharpness, productivity, emotional balance, creativity, physical vitality, and even your weight. No other activity delivers so many benefits with so little effort.”
I am sure about that information because, I have lived it, myself and like Mr.Tavel tilted it, I paid the price, from my health, and I finished with a burning out.
And many other good advice like for the vitamin supplement, for which he recommend having it from fruit and vegetables, because they are more efficient than drugs.
And so many other good advice, I will only rewrite the book, if I try to explain all it good willing and so honest advice; information are served with no confirmation or supposition only facts, you are on your own, to judge the relevance of the information, because every single information is a huge subject of study elsewhere.
The writer did his best, to highlight the best tips and tricks for better lifespan and life quality in our modern life style.
For all this reason and more, I recommend reading this book, and enjoying it for the last word, because it is a wonderful work of search, and prospect on the modern life habits and its outcome.
Even Scams Presented By the “Legitimate” Drug Companies are treated in this work and with equity, “So I must admit that even many members of my own profession share some blame for such questionable practices.”
Finally, I urge Morton E Tavel to write a new series, about the same subject, I am sure that he has more tips and tricks about our health, for example, fertility, a lead presence in our environment (From cars fuel) and how to minimize his impact on our health, and so on.
I rate this book a 4 out of 4 stars.I should admit that I fall in love with this book, because it is the kind of the lecture I prefer, also, begin started reviewing this work, even I have not the time for, because of the nature of my job, and I am trying finishing this review, against all circumstances, because I wish other people benefit from those valuable advice and wisdom.
