How to Say a Good-bye! by Dr. Maria Stylianou is a short story that follows three children and how they overcame the grief caused by the loss of their loved ones. One of them is John. While out, John met another boy grieving. So, he went to the boy who opened up to him about his grief. John, having gone through grief in the past and been consoled by his mother, shared with him insights from his mother's lessons on letting go of grief for the loss of loved ones. Another child, a girl, later joins them and shares with them her grief. She also learns from John's insights, and they are able to reflect on it and let go of their grief.

I like this book for many reasons. One is that the author is very learned in this niche. She's an educational psychologist, with many academic qualifications as well as years of practice. Her expertise shines through in the story. With not much of a story, she passes a strong and concise message that applies not just to children but to every age group because everyone gets to lose someone or something one day.

Another highlight is the hand-painted images. The images are very colorful, and they match every scenario. They add a layer of realism and provoke interest, especially for children. The choice of words is simple and clearly serves this storyline. I didn't notice any errors while reading this book, which shows that it was exceptionally well-edited. I don't dislike any aspect of this book.

I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars for the reasons I've mentioned above. I recommend this book to everyone, but most especially anyone currently going through any grief. This book features a brief storyline with a straightforward message that sparks deep, intentional, and purposeful reflections.
