When A. Nonny Mouse showed off his magic power during G. Teeny's birthday party, he never expected what would follow. Now he will have to leave the moon, be separated from his moon mouse friends (G. Teeny, N. Dorr, O. Cheesy, E. Norr, and B. lnfa), and visit Earth to get a Merry Christmas in a box, all the while only limited to four magic acts. While on Earth, A. Nonny faces some obstacles. Will he be able to achieve his mission, and will he make it back to his moon friends?

I need to acknowledge the author, Doreen Lindahl, for the amount of creativity that went into this children's story, like the invention of the "A. Nonny Mouse" character, and the effort put into crafting characters that actively shaped the storyline. For example, the character B. Infa is always there to put A. Nonny in check. Through the rivalry between these two, the flaws of our main character (A. Nonny) become more obvious, making readers better appreciate his eventual transformation.

The narrative flows smoothly. The ending was heartwarming. I really liked the character G. Teeny. Her suggestion for a moonball game takes the story to another dimension and especially influenced A. Nonny's quest for the power to wish things into existence and away. Her birthday party also brings in new tension. Also, the presence of Fairy Moon Mouse was thoughtful. I appreciated the impact the characters Bob and Trina had on A. Nonny.

However, I didn't like the illustrations. They are small in size. I prefer illustrations that are big and like it most when a full page is dedicated to a drawing. Also, the quality of the paintings was not the best for me. For these reasons, I am removing a star, so I rate "A. Nonny Mouse" four out of five stars.

But then, this is a sweet story that teaches children important lessons on personal conduct, friendship, love, and proper use of our talents and gifts.
