Health tips, myths and tricks review.
The book is beautifully written, rich with insights and lined with mind provoking material. The author arranged the book into three distinct sections that provide information and clear misconceptions. The information provided is backed up by research from other study references hence equipped with rich quality information. The author begins by introducing the reader on what ought to be expected in the book thus the reader becomes mentally prepared. The book focuses on promoting public health which upholds promoting health, preventing diseases and prolonging life through nutrition.

The book sections include the heath tips, the myths and the tricks. The health tips comprises of information on the various foods that can be used to improve the health status of an individual. Moreover, it analyzes various foods and their health effect on the health status. For instance, larger fishes such as sharks are claimed to contain a high concentration of lead as compared to smaller fishes such as the tilapia. Additionally, octopuses are claimed to consist a high level of protein as compared to salmon. Such information helps people make informed food choices for the purpose of promoting a healthier lifestyle.

The author tries to clear the myths and misconceptions that people assume of their existence. The myths tend to affect the food choices of individuals as well as their health status. For example, most people tend to resist consumption of the genetically modified foods due to the assumed effect on the health and environment. However, the foods are modified to meet the human needs since the population is increasing and food sources becoming scarce. As a result, many people are reported to develop malnutrition since the food is scarce and nutritional value decreased.

The tricks discussed in the book mainly comprises of simple ways in which some health situations can be solved using the readily available food stuffs. For example, hot boiling water can be used to decongest a blocked nose. This is whereby an individual covers the head with the towel around the bucket and the steam is allowed to have effective access of the congested nose and the face as a whole bringing in the soothing effect.

The book can come in hand for reference especially among the students pursuing a course in nutrition and dietetics. The book provides in-depth information on various foods due to the supporting information sought from other sources. Moreover, it can be used by clinical nutritionists in matters concerning nutritional management of various health conditions such as the non-communicable diseases. The dieticians can also use the book for reference in developing the meal plans for patients managing various health conditions.

I rate this book 4 out of 4 because it is easy to ready and the sentences are arranged in such that it is not tiresome. Moreover, the author is straight to the point relaying the important message and always ensuring correct grammar.
