I give Holler Girls a 3/5 stars, Noah Bond is really good at giving you a roster of fun characters to read even if some of them are somewhat stereotypical like Max and Yrina.

Holler Girls follows three young married women who are all hot, best friends, and married men who are also hot and also best friends. Despite their fictional residence of Coal Springs, West Virginia being described as "backwater", we still get a lot of excitement happening to our main characters. Think Sex and The City without the city...the sex is off screen. The main plot follows the three wives flipping Amalie's barn into a gym and recreational room, complete with a jukebox, hot tub and alcohol. The barn becomes even more important when the wives decide to keep their husbands away from the local Tavern, where skinny barmaids dance topless.

We get a few chapters of them getting into shenanigans which actually feel more like a bonding ritual than a real plan to keep their husbands at bay. The novel also teases us with implications swinging, lesbian experimentation, orgies, wife swapping, but it never goes that far. If you're looking for something a little more daring this isn't that kind of book, but it's still suggestive enough to keep you reading. The prose is simple in nature, almost boring at times but it's really the dialogue that is the star of the show. Puns, double entendres, euphemisms, whatever you want to call them, they make the reading experience a bit more charming. Noah has this way of breathing life into all the characters even if they initially came off as generic blow-up dolls, we learn about their endowments as often as we learn about their talents, insecurities and hardships. I think the book is really sweet when you accept the premise for what it is.

Despite the claim that there is no swearing in the book I came across the b-word, the h-word…it didn't bother me but that's another heads up.
