The Miller's Tale, one of the 24 stories in The Canterbury Tales by Geoffrey Chaucer. This bawdy story of lust and revenge is told by a drunken, churlish Miller. The story is actually quite fun to read and can be very amusing at some point. While reading the story, I was enjoying the rhyming part the most. I was reading it out loud like I'm a storyteller or something. Seriously, I loved reading it! The tale conveys the themes of scheming, lust, trickery, and revenge. It gives us three lessons as followed: 1. Persistence in unwanted romantic pursuit; 2. Men should marry women their own age; 3. Love can blind individuals to reality." The Miller's Tale" belongs to a specific genre, the ' fabliau'. It means, a type of short, bawdy tale written for entertainment and characterized by vivid detail and realistic observation. The flow of the story was very good and once you start reading it, you would want to read further as it gets exciting with every line. I also liked the part where the narrator warns us in advance in a creative way that those who are easily offended should skip to another tale. The reason for this warning was due to the bawdiness of the tale. The overall book was really good and I'd rate it 4 out of 4 stars. The reason for this rating is because of the reasons I mentioned above and also because I liked the rhyming part. I think I would make a good storyteller if I have to recite this tale. Anyway, I really loved the tale. Though there were some typos in the story, they weren't bothersome, so no star reduction. The story utterly captivated me. I liked everything about this book. I strongly suggest this book- it's a must read from my side. Hope you enjoy it!
