Review of Play Golf Better Faster: The Little Golf Bag Book
Play Golf Better Faster: The Little Golf Bag Book by author Kalliope Barlis is an awesome book exploring how to use the resources within us to master a sport as hard as golf. In the short premise of the book, the author has explored ways to become a pro golf player using the methods of NLP to harness the power of our own minds.
Kalliope Barlis is a well-known name in the field of NLP (neuro-linguistic programming). Despite being someone who did not grow up playing golf, Kalliope had successfully incorporated methods of NLP into learning golf to achieve pro status in just two years. In this book, she has described the methods and techniques she used to achieve this amazing feat.
Throughout the book, the author has emphasized the idea that people have all the resources that they need to master a skill. In order to become a pro at that skill, all they need to do is harness those skills with proper guidance and practice. She has described the way players can use the memory of the shots taken by them to create a positive resource for the future. She has stressed the importance of embracing and using all the senses to focus on landing a perfect shot.
Kalliope has also described the way setting a goal and a target can prove to be very beneficial for success in golf. She has described the Swish pattern for changing golf shots and the 15:5 method in detail, both of which can be immensely helpful for players. She has emphasized the power of the human mind and how people can improve their game only by changing their thoughts.
Throughout this book, there are numerous exercises and questions meant for the readers. There are also numerous techniques and good practices, along with clear illustrations, listed throughout the book, which is extremely helpful for all the readers.
This book is meant to be kept in a golf bag so that players can easily go through it to find the motivation and enthusiasm required to play their best game. In the beginning of the book itself, Kalliope mentioned the ideal way to use this book, which is really helpful in my opinion.
The use of simple and fluid language in this book and the author’s amazing writing skills, along with its short and crisp content, make this book a must-read for people of all age groups and professions looking to master golf quickly. I would definitely rate this book a solid 5 out of 5.
The author and the editor have also done an amazing job of editing this book. I could not find a single spelling mistake in the entire book, which is really a huge feat.
I really love this book and could not really find anything negative about it, although some of the technical terms related to golf can be a little bit difficult for absolute beginners to understand at the beginning. I’d really like to recommend this book to all the readers out there who, regardless of their expertise in playing golf, are looking to improve their game.
