"The Girl In The Toile Wallpaper" begins with a man named Tyler talking to an old man in Italy about how he just left his fiancée. He then goes on to tell this stranger the story of his life in Italy, many years ago. The story then delves into the past for a majority of the book, where you'll learn about a mystic from the East who can turn people into cats or put them into the wallpaper! It's actually quite amazing how the author lays out the story for the reader and how it wraps up the story, yet still leaves it open for more books to come into the series.

I personally really enjoyed the small quotes the author put in at the start of every chapter; I love details like that. Also, who doesn't want to read a few chapters from a cat's perspective?

One thing I didn't enjoy about the book was the few pictures that were put into it—I couldn't really see them or make out what they said because the print was so small. So, that really just took more away from the story for me. The version I read was a Kindle version, so maybe that isn't a problem in other formats. Another thing was that sometimes the story would just get a bit too convoluted and hard to follow. The ending was also lacking for me, but I do not want to put in any spoilers, so I will just say I am not a fan of the "love-at-first-sight trope."

I noticed only one error, and it was extremely minor, so it appears the book has been professionally edited.

Overall, I rate this book a 4 out of 5 stars. It is a book that is perfect for teens, young adults, or people who love a bit of magic and plenty of adventure. The sequel in this series, The StarWriters Club, was released earlier this year. I will definitely be adding it to my "want to read" list!
