Lann Dàn: Blades of Destiny is a fantasy novel that tells the story of Breanna in her journey to free her people from the many years of cruelty that they faced from Hakon Skadi. Hakon, in his campaign to conquer parts of Erin, spreads fear and hate in Erin. Breanna grows up with this hatred in her heart, which sets her journey on a warrior's path. Breanna joins the Red Branch to become a fierce warrior with the sole purpose of destroying Hakon. Born a bastard, Breanna doesn't know that the person she wants to destroy is her father. The gods also get involved in guiding Breanna to fulfill her destiny.

One of the positive aspects of this book is how the author beautifully paints the fighting scenes that are present in the book. The author creates a vivid image in your brain that will have you appreciating the author's work. I also liked the author's magical world that he introduces us to. The author takes the reader to experience this magical world that is filled with gods, druids, and magical weapons. I also liked the map of Erin and the glossary that the author placed in the book. This helped me get a better understanding of the book.

The negative aspect of this book is how the book ended. I felt like the author didn't give this part much thought on how he should go about it. The author could have finished the book in a spectacular way, but he chose to force a sequel out of the book. The author writes an amazing book only to mess it up at the end.

The book was exceptionally well edited. I rate this book three out of five. I gave this book a low rating because of the negative aspect that I mentioned above. I recommend this book to those who love fantasy novels.
