Review of Quest: Finding Freddie
I rate this book a five out of five stars. The book was great, but there were a few errors and typos. Not bad editing considering this intimately styled literary piece. The editing in this book was good but it could have been better. It's not the best editing I've seen, but it's a great job in general. With a little more patience and diligence, this book could have been edited perfectly. This book contained not only typos and errors but sexual content as well as profanity. Regarding the sexual content, I rate the content of this book a two out of five. The sexual content mentioned in this book was alluded to only once but expressed three times. The scenes in which the content was mentioned were shared narratively. Although shocking, this book was not vivid. In this case, that was a good thing. This book is not for the emotionally sensitive. A reader would need to compartmentalize their emotions to enjoy the book to not get too attached to the characters. In regards to the profanity used in this book, I would like to appreciate its cohesivity. The characters who use profanity are constant as if it's who they are. I appreciate this little finite detail. It brings the characters into reality. The characters seem more real and honest.
Book Summary: This book was essentially about a man who bravely took on the challenge of finding someone. We are given a fly-on-the-wall perspective of the adventures that the brave man encounters on his journey. On his journey, he meets and acquires a ragtag group of friends who help him to accomplish his mission. This mission proves deadly for some and successful for others. This book was a great read, especially feeding my need to find out who failed and who prevailed. The only issue I have with this book is that I would have liked to have read about each of the characters in more depth. Giving them more of the background history or backstory would have made each character more real. With all of those things summed up, I would like to reiterate that I enjoyed reading this book. Once I got to about 55% through reading this book, it was difficult for me to put it down. I would easily recommend others to read this book. This book was interestingly different as it contains historical information from the times mentioned. In addition to the history lesson we get from this book, we also learn about how currency exchanges and the value of money from other countries are used. This book proved to be a very good read. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it and will probably read it again at a later date for fun.
