Review of Opaque
The book "Opaque" by Calix Leigh-Reign is quite intriguing and dark. It dives into the troubled mind of Adam, the protagonist, who is grappling with intense inner turmoil, strange powers, and disturbing thoughts. The story is compelling, especially in how it blends psychological tension with elements of fantasy or supernatural abilities, like Adam’s telekinetic powers.
The book delves into the disturbing mind of Adam, a man obsessed with control and power, both mentally and physically. Adam’s struggle with his darker impulses and his inability to fully control them leads to a tense, dangerous situation. The narrative portrays Adam’s internal conflict, his descent into chaos, and his attempt to regain control, highlighting the dangers of unchecked obsession and the fragile line between fantasy and reality.
Adam finds himself plunged into a secret world of mutated people with extraordinary abilities. This new reality is both fascinating and terrifying, as he navigates secret underground facilities, encounters stunningly beautiful individuals like Dauma, and grapples with the revelation of his own mysterious heritage. As tensions rise and secrets are revealed, Adam faces life-changing decisions, including a dangerous mission to confront a powerful enemy organization, the Iksha.
Amidst the chaos, he remains steadfast in his choice to protect Carly, his girlfriend, as they uncover the truth about their pasts and prepare for an uncertain future. Carly struggles with her feelings of restlessness and determination as she faces a turbulent situation. Adam's lack of emotion unsettles Carly, revealing the emotional toll of their circumstances. Carly decides to travel to Greenland, believing it’s the only way to confront their enemies.
In the book "Opaque" by Calix Leigh-Reign, the most engaging aspect is how deeply it explores Adam’s psyche—his anger, his conflicted feelings toward his parents, and his fixation on certain people, like Carly. That's why I have rated this book 5 out of 5 stars. The writing does a great job of pulling you into his chaotic world; you will feel his discomfort and confusion. The mysterious connection between Adam and Carly adds a layer of suspense; you will be hooked to see how their relationship will unfold amidst the tension.
The book is an intense and thought-provoking read, with its blend of psychological depth and supernatural elements. It’s definitely a book that would appeal to those who enjoy stories about complex characters dealing with extraordinary challenges. The editing of the book was error-less. In my opinion, I found no dislikes in this book; it was commendable work.
