Have you ever loved someone? To what extremes can you go to show your love for someone? Could you die so that others might live? Could you endure persecution for the sake of others? Well, well, well, I bet 99.99% of us wouldn't even try, let alone think about it. "Over my dead cold body!" many of us would be heard saying.

In her book *Because He Loved Us*, Sharon Williams is willing to take us through the journey of a man who did just that. He was born in the town of Bethlehem and raised in Nazareth. He accomplished much within a short span of time—He was God incarnate, God in the form of man. In fact, He often referred to Himself as the "Son of Man." His stories are mainly found in the books of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. His birth was actually prophesied by Old Testament prophets. How many of us can predict when our grandson will be born or when he will die? None, probably.

The author presents the life of Jesus from the beginning to the end. This is because what has a beginning must have an end. What makes this book unique is that it is organized into chapters and includes quotes from various books of the Bible to help the reader understand the narrative. The author also adds "seeds of thought." These seeds might be small, like mustard seeds, but the author hopes to enlighten us to follow the great example of Jesus Christ, which could grow into a huge tree of Christian fulfillment. Did you know Jesus had four half-brothers? If it weren't for this book, I might have remained in the dark about this fact. Hurry and buy the book while stocks last! It is a great gem of knowledge and shows how Jesus shouldn't be relegated to the past but can be a guiding example in our day-to-day lives.

What I don't like about the book is the author's use of some Old English words like "thou" and similar expressions. I noticed that the quotes are from the King James Version. I would prefer if the author used a more modern version of English when quoting verses.

What I do like about the book is the author's attempt to present the life and times of Jesus Christ concisely. To fully appreciate the book, you need to read it from beginning to end. You can't climb stairs from the top downwards. Take your time and slowly absorb the content of each chapter. Remember, "Hurry has no blessing!"

I would recommend this book to our Christian church leaders. They should not stick strictly to the original meaning of the word but should make it lively and engaging, just like Jesus did when He enhanced His teachings with parables to keep His audience engaged. I would also recommend it to Christians around the world. Christianity should not begin and end in the church; the teachings of Christ should be applied in our everyday lives.

Although this is a Christian book, I believe it would be a great injustice to restrict it to only members of the Christian faith. It can be read by people of other faiths and even atheists, as it contains nuggets of wisdom relevant to various aspects of life.

I would give the book a rating of 4 out of 5 stars. The author was very creative in presenting the life of Jesus Christ in a concise form with various nuggets of wisdom. It would have been a tall order to cover everything from the Book of Matthew to John. The book has various illustrations, and the pacing is steady—no need to rush. I deduct one star due to the author's preference for using Old English words.

I imagine this book would be excellent for people who haven't read the New Testament and are interested in a summary of Jesus' life. What an interesting book, and your review is excellent, thank you.
