We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies is an exciting start to a series of fantasy books. The book follows a young Galen who leaves his country for the kingdom of Voulhire. Little does young Galen know about the difficulties that await him and the dangers in that kingdom. The main character, Gallen, is impoverished and comes from a war-torn region. The story opens with him on a boat, on his way to receive an inheritance from his uncle. On the boat, we hear the story of the Emperor of Lullabies. The Emperor of Lullabies had four sons, and he was terrified that one day they might overthrow him and take over his realm. The Emperor decided to send his sons to other islands. As the boys rose up and took control of their islands, a civil war erupted. Gallen's boat is heading to Voulhire County, which is ruled by King Wilhelm. As with any country, it contains various cities.King Wilhelm wishes to safeguard his country, but he requires the assistance of the Mianoran Knights, an organization almost as old as the kingdom itself. However, the first knight is a corrupt and narcissistic philanderer who sees the kingdom and life as only a game. These are the days when Galen Bray, a wide-eyed and grateful immigrant, arrives by boat in Voulhire, ready to do whatever it takes to help his new neighbors. Eldus Alderman is a wise, optimistic, and compassionate lord who wishes to see the city survive and grow despite its unfortunate past. Voulhire's past and present are interwoven, leading to an explosive moment in time when a full cycle of this land's history is finished and the doors of Caromantis open.
It is a nice, engaging story; I liked how the plot flowed from one character to another, opening the subject for us from multiple angles. During my reading, I did not find any errors; the book was well edited; I did not find difficulty while reading the book. I will highly recommend this book to anyone seeking a fantasy read, especially adults, because it has some sort of profanity and sexual content. I will gladly rate this book 5 out of 5 stars because I didn't find anything to dislike about the book. The book was great.
