Review of Stolid
[Following is a volunteer review of "Stolid" by Aaron D Key.]
Aaron D. Key's novel "Stolid" is a beautifully written piece that takes me on an emotional journey through the life of its troubled protagonist, Stolid. From the very beginning, the story grips me as Stolid is found alone, deep in thought, only to be picked up by a stranger who knows more about him than he knows about himself. The narrative weaves through Stolid's past and present, unveiling a life filled with love, jealousy, and insecurities.
One of the most striking aspects of the book is the meticulous attention to detail that Key employs in setting each scene. The vivid descriptions allow me to fully immerse myself in Stolid's world, feeling the weight of his emotions and the atmosphere around him. The language, although complex, adds to the depth of the story and reflects the intricate nature of Stolid's thoughts and experiences. This complexity, however, may be a bit challenging for some readers and can occasionally distract from the storyline.
