Review of Snatched Up to Heaven!
Snatched Up to Heaven! is an inspirational Christian book written by Jemima Paul and Arvind Paul. Their four-year-old daughter, Priyanka, declared, "I had a dream about heaven!" one morning. She was then asked if she had any memories of heaven by her mother, Jemima. What transpired next is what this book is about. The experiences of their children, Priyanka and Deepika, seeing heaven and hell in their visions are told in this true story. The children's parents were amazed when, over time, after several visits to heaven and hell in their dreams, they described those places in terms of their own innocent, limited vocabulary. It will definitely astound readers.
The book discusses the appearance of heaven and hell, the inhabitants of both places, the requirements to enter heaven, and the things that prevent one from achieving eternal life. The authors also share a glimpse into their lives, their beliefs, and how they have inculcated Christian faith, qualities, and godly ways in their children. The narrative contains visions of heaven and hell as described by the children in their own words. The children's words will reveal innocence and purity to the readers. The authors have then interpreted what they think about their children’s visions. They have used biblical quotations to support their interpretation of heaven and hell in terms of Christianity and to explain the visions.
Even though Priyanka and Deepika, who were four and two years old at the time, had visions that are discussed in this book, I was mesmerized by their innocence and the detail with which they depicted heaven and hell. The children's drawings of heaven and hell are also included in the book. It gave me the impression that kids perceive things beyond our comprehension because they are more willing to accept and believe than adults are.
This book is a short read. The authors have a simple style of writing that is easily understood, and the book has been well edited. That being said, this book advocates Christianity; its usefulness will depend on your individual beliefs. There are lots of Bible quotes that are necessary, but they might be difficult to understand, especially if you are unfamiliar with the Bible. In addition, I would advise parents to read this book before giving it to their kids because the descriptions of hell in the book could frighten them.
I give this book four out of five stars.
This book inspires you to be a good human being.
