The author’s motive in writing this book is his passion to help the book’s readers survive an emergency. Whether you choose to stay at home or leave in case the situation cannot be handled by staying put, the author's pool of knowledge will enhance your learning. In this book, the author covers various scenarios, from natural to human-made disasters, and provides guidance on how to prepare for a situation he termed SHTF (Schumer Hits the Fan). As a way out of this dreaded situation, he introduced “prepping” to readers. The author defined prepping as the art of being prepared to survive in the unknown waters of the world. He stated how to budget for "prepping," items to purchase, and how to make the crucial decision of either staying home or moving to a more secure area.

After reading this book, I became equipped with the knowledge to prepare for emergencies, including stockpiling essential items and gaining crucial survival skills. Every careful reader of this book will keep themselves and their family safe during challenging times. This book, The Ultimate Prepared Bug-In Guide by S. Lee, made me realise that there is no benefit in being a lone wolf. Lee states that the people who survived emergencies were the ones with the strongest community. He further supported his points by highlighting the fact that we have forgotten the various survival skills our ancestors used, even though we still need them.

I rate this book five out of five. The book is getting this high rating from me because of certain reasons. One of such reasons is the way the author promotes community cooperation. This is a very important virtue that is fast being eroded in our societies. Another reason is that he didn’t just list the steps to take towards survival during an emergency; he explained each of the steps, which I, as a reader, could understand without getting confused. These solutions are also very simple and not complicated.

The only negative I noticed in the book is that there are some organisational acronyms used in the book that a non-US citizen will not understand without doing a Google search. Examples of such are FEMA and EMP. Overall, this minor flaw did not impede me from enjoying this great work.

I recommend this book to anyone who does not want to be caught unprepared in case a total shutdown of society occurs during events of war or natural disaster.
