The novel "We Are Voulhire: A New Arrival Under Great Skies'' by Matthew Tysz is a captivating story that follows Galen, who inherits his uncle’s forging enterprise in Magnum Caelum, Voulhire, after fleeing the war-torn Land of Princes, his homeland. In this new land, Galen strives to forge a fresh start amid both the positive aspects and challenges that characterize Voulhire. The narrative skillfully paints a vivid picture of Voulhire — encompassing King Wilhem, the king of Voulhire; Soulhire, the capital city; the rich and industrious Virko; the highly developed, revered, and beautiful Yamon Soul city, land of saints; as well as the recalcitrant Riva Rohavi terrorist group, and Hillport, a small city struggling to redeem itself after enduring the rule of two previous lords — the late Lord Orlin and Lord Meldorath, a powerful mage who remains a major threat to the King of Voulhire, and Hillport city specifically, even while restrained.

King Wilhem appointed a former judge, Eldus Alderman, as the new Lord of Hillport. Lord Eldus is renowned for his brilliance and resourcefulness. His mission is to manage Hillport, restore faith and confidence in its people, and foster economic, educational, and business growth, promising all-around development. While the new Lord is optimistic, ambitious, and actively gaining the trust and love of the people of Hillport, having already initiated beautiful plans that the residents are enthusiastic about, he is silently bothered and seeks to understand the hidden actions of Hillport's past lords that caused fear and hopelessness among the people. Since assuming his duties as the new Lord, hope is gradually being restored.

The story of leadership, politics, power, and the supernatural world is intriguing, and I appreciate the seamless transitions between scenes — seamlessly shifting from Galen to Eldus, Meldorath, the King, and various communities. However, this also makes the scenes quite disconnected, perhaps intentionally to build suspense. I would, therefore, suggest that there should be a sequel to connect those parts. The novel is captivating from start to finish, leaving me eagerly anticipating the next series. The language is clear and easy to grasp, with beautiful expressions that bring the story to life. Likewise, the editing is excellent. This is a wonderful book, and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. It deserves my 5-star rating.
