The book, Phobia Relief: From Fear to Freedom , by Kalliope Barlis, is an enlightening self-help book for individuals who wish to be free of their phobias. The book is written in three parts, each with a designated chapter and purpose. The author describes methods and effective strategies on how to manage fears, find purpose in life, give effective solutions to common fears, and how to practice mental exercises to strengthen ourselves and achieve freedom from phobias.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book. I have never read a book about how to eliminate phobias, but I found it very interesting. I was also surprised by the amount of time the author spend discussing how the mind works in relation to having a phobia and that it is an uncontrolled defense mechanism that our minds automatically carry out. I really enjoyed how the author discussed the psychology behind having phobias and not just having a phobia and how they are limiting our lives.

There was honestly nothing that I did not like about the book. I found the book very interesting and enlightening as it provided several effective strategies to rid phobias from our lives. I also found no grammatical errors or typos within the text. This is a testament to the exceptional editing completed to the book. I also liked that this book had several examples from the author’s past clients at the end of the book to better support the author’s writings and claims. Additionally, the author included a glossary with a list of words that may not be commonly known that were used within the book.

I would rate this book five out of five stars for the reasons I stated above. I love the overall message that the author provides to readers, as well as the purpose of the book. This book is a worthwhile read, especially for readers suffering from various phobias.

I would recommend this book to anyone dealing with phobias or fears who would like to be free from them. This book was very informative and interesting. The book held my attention until the very end.
