The book “My Trip To Adele” by co-authors and brothers R. I Alyaseer & A.I. Alyaseer is a novel about 3 main actors, Elias, Nadia, and Yaser who have developed a deep love for Adele's music so much that it defines state in which they all find themselves
It is centered around five major cities. It is a fascinating book with good character development, beautiful in the way it was switching plots, and highly commendable. At first, I didn't seem to get what is all about and how each chapter sharply cuts you away from the excitement built up in one and then leads you onto the next, disrupting the imagery you have in your head as a result of the novel's high creativity, but thereafter, it became a regularity and pretty much an anticipation
I could elaborate on the book using the 3 main actors
ELIAS QUEST
A young man living in Rome, Italy journeys back home to Marrakesh, Morocco search of his long-lost love Malika, a beautiful young lady whom he promised to see someday
YASER'S SILENCE
A married surgeon living in the vibrant city of Las Vegas looking to rekindle what was almost a collapsing marriage with his wife Mariam, who likes things done her way
NADIA'S FREEDOM
A divorced mother living with her son in the city of Amman, Jordan defied all domination and communal tradition to gain her freedom. She focuses on her son and learns that her happiness depends on the choices she makes for him
The unifying factor in this novel was Adele and her songs, the way they always found their way into every condition, and their lyrics depicting the current circumstances
The book offers an enjoyable reading experience but my major problem with it is the gross disconnect it carries when going from one chapter to another
Overall it's a good book and I had a deep connection with the actors, especially Elias because they navigated through complex emotions and challenges
The way he captured the cities and their beauties as well as their struggles, so beautifully and brilliantly done
I only wished there would be a happy ending between Elias and Malika, that ending I wasn't particularly happy about.
Few mistakes, without any form of profanities at all, and excellent editing, but it was just jumping between past and present that you wouldn't recognize what part you were
My rating is 4/5.
