Review of Phobia Relief
Fear is a normal human emotion, but it can become debilitating when it turns into a phobia. A phobia is a persistent and excessive fear of a specific object or situation. It can be so severe that it interferes with daily life.
Kalliope Barlis' book, Phobia Relief, offers a step-by-step approach to overcoming phobias. She uses techniques developed by Dr. Richard Bandler, one of the founders of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP).
The book is divided into three sections. The first section helps readers understand the difference between fear and phobia, and how phobias are developed. The second section provides a systematic approach to conquering fear, with a series of exercises that must be practiced diligently. The third section contains transcripts of success stories, YouTube links, reference links, and notes of gratitude from clients.
Barlis' approach is based on the idea that phobias are learned behaviors, and can therefore be unlearned. She teaches readers how to identify the root cause of their fears, gain control over irrational thoughts, and ultimately reduce or eliminate their worries.
One of the things I appreciate most about Barlis' book is her direct and honest approach. She doesn't sugarcoat the challenges of overcoming a phobia but offers hope and encouragement. She also provides clear and concise instructions for the exercises, making them easy to follow.
Another thing I like about the book is that it's written in a conversational style. Barlis shares her own experiences and stories, which makes her feel relatable and approachable. She also includes case studies of people who have successfully overcome their phobias, which is inspiring and motivating.
Overall, I think Phobia Relief is an excellent resource for anyone who is struggling with a phobia. It's well-written, informative, and practical. I did not find any errors. I highly recommend it.
Here are some of the key takeaways from the book: Phobias are learned behaviors, and can therefore be unlearned. The root cause of phobias is often irrational thoughts or beliefs. Once you identify the root cause of your fear, you can start to challenge and change those thoughts and beliefs. With practice, you can learn to control your fear and gradually eliminate it.
If you are struggling with a phobia, I encourage you to read Phobia Relief. It could be the first step on your journey to overcoming your fear and living a more fulfilling life. I give this book full 4 out of 4 stars and 5 out of 5 stars.
