The Prison of Power by G Michael Smith is a riveting novel of a female power upsurge in a male-dominated world. At the beginning, the author narrates how a group of men executed a heinous act of inflicting unbearable pain on young girls and women as a way of taking revenge on their rise in power above males in society. They kidnapped them, raped them, and after violating their private organs, they urinated on them. They didn't feel any remorse for oppressing them, as they felt that women needed to be suppressed and subjugated. All this they did in a cage in a building.

A group of police officers, however, managed to find their hiding places. They carried out surveillance around the farm where the building was located. Nisheeta's sister,Eve,was among those captured. She managed to survive the brutal hands of the men. Nisheeta was really sorry and in deep pain and guilt as to why she couldn't manage to save her sister earlier. In court, she got emotional, testifying about what her sister and other victims went through in the cage.

G Michael Smith really wrote a mind-blowing book that will definitely amaze any reader who reads it. At the beginning, though, some may feel offended, especially female readers, with regards to how the women were treated and abused. The men also misused religion by quoting unexisting phrases to support their act. The theme that appeared to stand out to me in the text was women's empowerment.

Suspense has been employed in this novel. I was really impressed by the detailed description of every event in the book. The book is really insightful and informative. The dates used, however, appeared unrealistic to me. This was actually what I disliked in this book. It tends to lower my interest a little bit but doesn't have a significant impact on my reading. I find the characters not well developed. The author did not provide much background information on them. I, however, commend him on his ability to evoke various emotions in readers.

The Prison of Power is indeed one of the best books I have read. I was really absorbed. The author used simple and straightforward language. What I liked about it was the vivid description of events. There are no grammar errors or typos; the book was exceptionally edited. I gladly rate The Prison of Power by G Michael Smith 5 out of 5 stars.

Due to the degree of obscenity in the language used in this text, I believe it suits readers over the age of 18. Lovers of politics will also find it interesting.
