The book Singularity: Second Edition by Jayme A. Oliveira Filho & Jayme S. Alencar is a great scientific themed book that presents creating new discoveries and bringing hope to generations to come. The beginning of the book discusses what has become of planet Earth in 2135 in which overpopulation, climate changes and more are destroying planet Earth as they know it. In return, the planet is becoming inhabitable, and something must be done about it to help future generations to come. A father, who is a scientist, makes an impactful discovery while at the playground with his young daughter while she is on a trampoline. The father had an idea with the use of physics how he can save planet Earth as they knew it by changing the physical properties of an object to travel through space. Within the chapters, the author discusses how the physics properties come into play and what knowledge they have previously had of space as they knew it. The middle chapters discuss how this discovery could allow the scientist’s family and future generations a new hope on saving planet Earth. Some time has passed, and the father’s daughter has grown up to become a NASA scientist who decides to bring her father’s idea to life. The final chapters discuss how this test will lead to suspenseful twists and turns as time passes and how future generations discover their own way with the use of this very idea. The author’s creates a thrill and sense of discovery that we all hope to have on the final days of planet Earth within this book. I recommend this book to anyone who is searching for a family-based scientific thriller that brings to life new hope for future generations and provides new discoveries that can be made to save the human race for generations to come.
