After the battle events from the first book, we continue with Yanara, Frost, and Mandolen and how they continue with their journey. My favorite thing about this book is that it is centered on family and the relationships around family and potential love. I like how, as the reader, you can tell that the main female lead (Yanara)loves her family very much and is willing to do anything to protect them from other forces inside the family and out. Something is intriguing about the dichotomy of the different relationships in this story and how each requires an extra resolve.
What I like about this book is that it's an excellent interlude from previous events and continues with hints of what may come in the next book. Great for sci-fi/ adventure/fantasy fans who want to get lost in a new world. Not only are there descriptions of the creatures in this fantasy world and the events surrounding them, but the author also provides images of the characters and the creatures in this world, letting the reader fully immerse themselves in this world. The only thing I did not like about this book is that Frost was a second thought. Frost deserves more attention, not just from Yanara but from a reader's point of view. I would have enjoyed it more if there were multiple Points of view from all 3 ( Yanara, Mandolen, and Frost) and had them give their perspective on what was happening and how they felt in the moment of events, saying that my rating for this book is 4/5. This book has good adventures and is a great young adult book, but it can include more than one point of view. My edit score is a 5/5. The editing was perfect and carefully assessed. As you read, you can tell that every word was intentional, and you are given a deeper understanding of each character by how they talk.
