Natural Relief for Anxiety and Stress by Gustavo Kinrys, M.D., and Alexandra Gold, M.A., makes the argument that natural medicines and treatments can be just as effective as conventional alternatives when it comes to dealing with stress and anxiety. Most people choose pharmaceutical medicines because they are what is normally prescribed by their healthcare service providers. What this book does is introduce people to natural alternatives that they would normally not consider or know about.

The book starts by laying a foundation by breaking down the concepts of anxiety and stress. The authors wrote down the symptoms of the two ailments, and they offered insight into how modern medicines work against them. What I loved the most about this part of the book was how it spoke about our behaviours and how they contribute to our levels of stress and anxiety. Changing our behaviours can help ease our levels of stress and anxiety. As someone who frequently jumps to conclusions whenever I encounter a situation I don't quite understand, I relate to the contents of this part of the book because I recognise how I contribute to my stress levels.

The main types of natural or alternative medicines presented in the book were divided into five parts, and these were natural-based, nutrient-based, herbal-based, technology-based, and alternative therapies. I think I have encountered most of these remedies in my various reading experiences. Technological treatments were the only ones that I wasn't particularly aware of, and I found them to be highly intriguing. In a world of advanced technology, I see how these can help, and I am very interested in trying one of them.

I thought that the book was researched well. I thought that it covered a wide variety of alternative treatments, and I understood how they could work for just about anyone. I loved the language used in the book because sometimes I think that books such as this tend to be technical and use jargon that ultimately makes it less interesting to read. I loved the table of summaries at the end because it will make refreshing my memory easy. I have nothing negative to say about this gem. It is great all around. I rate it 5 out of 5 stars. The book was also edited exceptionally well. I commend the editor/s for doing such a stellar editing job.

I recommend it to those who are looking for other ways to treat their anxiety and stress levels. I also think that some of the remedies are way more affordable than pharmaceutical drugs, and I think that those who want to save money on healthcare can be helped by this book.
