The Devil Pulls The String is a fantasy novel written by J.W. Zarek. this book is full of adventure that is best suited for youngsters that are into fantasy and sci-fi.

At St. Louis Renaissance Festival, the joust takes place where Boone Daniels injured his friend and opponent, Flynn. This leads to the hospital bed where Boone takes a promise from his friend, Flynn to honor him by taking a role in a gig in New York City. Little did he know this promise will soon change his life.

The author brings tension to the book by introducing characters like Sinti and his goons. When the goons were chasing after Boone, it captured my attention as a reader because I thought that Boone's quest to perform in New York City would be a normal journey, it would not touch on eerie characters such as Sinti. Sinti's desires intensify the tension in the book, making me more curious as to what is going to happen next.

The characters and the pacing were marvelous. I liked the way the author created suspense in the book. The thing I liked about this book is, well there are a lot but I like the way the book started at the arena two people were jousting, you don't get that in most fantasy books. To start a fantasy book with a fight, this fascinated me. This is an amazing book, I would like to see a book series of it which will make it more epic.

There were a few grammatical errors that were found, the fact that they weren't a lot of errors conveys that this was professionally edited but this doesn't change the fact that this is an epic book. The book is enjoyable so I, therefore, rate it 3 out of 4 stars . The novel doesn't discriminate against age, sex, or religion. I highly recommend people read this book if they are a fantasy genre type of person.
